Since I've already made a couple of posts here, it is probably time to officially introduce myself. I've been a lurker on Fugitivus for a couple of years. Normally, I am better at lurking and listening than at producing words myself, but I decided to post here after something bad happened to one of my friends.
She was raped and a bunch people she thought were her friends were really cowardly an unsupportive about it.
I feel like reading Harriet J's work has made me a better person and a better friend than I would be otherwise, and you all seem like good people.
Other stuff about me: I'm 28; I have a job at a university which is cushy in terms of working conditions but not very secure; and I don't want to devote my life to activism, but I try to be a decent person. I like philosophy, science fiction, poetry, origami, and cooking.
Pleased to meet you!
