Hi everybody, I'm Intransigentia, and I haven't come up with a way of shortening my name, but suggestions are welcome. My name story: As he reads, my partner likes to jot down words to look up, and words to make a point of using. One list I found lying around included "intransigent", with an arrow pointing at my real name. I liked it.

I lurk and occasionally comment on a variety of feminist and progressive blogs (including Fugitivus, insert Harriet love/admiration here), and have my own sorely neglected and mediocre blog at http://intransigentia.wordpress.com/

My details: cis female, vaguely queer, not entirely neurotypical, living with mental illness and two cats. radical/marxist feminist; materialist atheist; lefty with anarchist leanings. I have an undergrad psych degree, work as a database administrator, and in my "real" life I am more of an artist/craftsperson, with particular interest in classical music (I sing) and clothes (I design and sew).

Hi, I'm Hex. Welcome aboard. I took a peek at your blog and I quite like it! Love the Klein bottle reference, although I don't know who it's about. Must remember to use that one in conversation someday.

The Klein bottle thing was about my former member of Parliament, Rahim Jaffer. I'm not sure what he'd just done or said when I made that post, but his history is, shall we say, storied.

Regarding my name, I think I'll just respond to anything I think might be intended for me, and see if a concensus develops.

I'll try not to engineer a false consensus by calling you Gentia in all of my ridiculously prolific posts.

I kind of like Tia or I. Tia, but mostly I prefer full handles with people I don't know. I like the story of how your handle came to be.

It's interesting that you're so readily able to put labels on a lot of your thoughts. I'm not quite educated enough to do that at this point.
