Hi Megann!

I'm Hilary. I also play a medical student and blogger on the internet at Mom's Tinfoil Hat, and a rabble rouser in various comment sections.

Hey hey,

I'm half responsible for a blog which is more a space I use to rant about feminism than a feminist blog. I've been gradually delurking at some of my favourite blogs lately, 'cause I've decided it's time to talk about more than video games on the interwebs.

Looking forward to seeing how this goes!

Hey all,

I generally go by Llencelyn at Shakesville, where I used to comment a lot, so you might know me from there. I don't really comment most places anymore because someone introduced me to Google Reader and that's how read blogs now. This possibly makes me an ass. :)

I have a blog, "Reasonably Angry," which used to be called "Reformed Patriarchy Whore" (I changed it because I didn't feel comfortable crossing that line into appropriating sex worker stuff, and didn't want to contort myself trying to justify it), where I sometimes occasionally rant about feminism-y things. These days I spend more time provoking 'splainers on Facebook, though.

Totally unrelated to feminism, I also have a blog which I like to promote, called "Twenty-Something Science," where I pursue my goal of making science in general, and physics in particular, more interesting and accessible to the public. I've only just gotten started, though. I feel compelled to mention it because if no one knows about it, it sort of fails in its central purpose, so...

I tend to use 10 words where I could have used 1, and my 5th draft is better than my 1st, but worse than my 3rd. Congratulations, I'm using my 1st draft for this post, and as a result you're seeing my writing at its most mediocre. ^_^

I'm totally excited about this forum, and I hope we can protect it from crashing and burning. :)

LOL Llencelyn. I am a compulsive editor, at least right after I post a comment (not days later or anything). You will see commas appear and disappear, and spelling corrections and the like, on many of my posts. I get really twitchy if there isn't an edit function, and will end up posting corrections to typos in subsequent comments!

Yay, other compulsive editors! I go absolutely nuts if I realize that I can't fix a misplaced comma later. ;) (And thank goodness I'm not the only wordy one.)

I don't have my own blog, just an inactive LJ, but I read other people's blogs compulsively. I got into Shakesville very early on through some 101 posts and gradually expanded the reading circle to things like Feministing, this ain't livin', Shapely Prose, zero at the bone...I still can't remember how I found fugitivus, but it was likely through one of them. I lurk heavily on blogs because I tend to be either worried about stepping on toes or have issues with the mod structure, but forums are a lot more fun for me than discussions on individual threads.

I'm interested in fantasy and science fiction, particularly how they intersect with sexism and rape culture. I haven't written about it because I have a difficult time articulating my thoughts and most of my friends are...less than interested in that sort of discussion. This forum seems like the kind of place where we can all have discussions that are less comfortable in real life or other online spaces, so I'm really interested in seeing it get off the ground.

I really apologize for my inactivity. School has really been kicking me ass lately. So I am gonna do some catching up here.
